AceHighWine History
Following is a little chronological timeline of how AceHighWine has changed over its distinguished history.
[July 27 2007] Scores will now be included with all wine reviews. I’ve only ever used the 20-point system and the 100-point system just doesn’t make sense to me, so no attention-grabbing 9x point-winners or what not - just the tried and tested format used in the Australian show system.
[June 14 2007] The categories have been updated to include relevant parent and child links and work has started on a (fingers crossed) not-too-wanky bio of the site’s author. At the stage, the search for a printable photo that could be deemed “professional” is emerging as the biggest challenge for all involved.
[January 9 2007] It’s a new year so what better time to unveil a sleek, minimal new look for AHW? I hope you enjoy the new look that’s (hopefully) far more compatible with all browsers. Thanks to Aaron for pointing out that the site was looking VERY ugly on IE at one time… the list of links has also been updated and “tightened up” somewhat as well.
[January 1 2007] One year on and who would have thought AHW would still be here and continuing to grow in popularity with 3,000 visitors last month! Some of you may have noticed a slight difference in the photos being uploaded, particularly plenty of depth of field effects. We can thank my new camera for that and I am over the moon with my new Canon DSLR. I’m looking forward to putting up more photos over the next 12 months. A happy New Year to you all and may 2007 be a brilliant 12 months for both yourself and your loved ones.
[June 19 2006] After seeing how deluxe the Hoddles Creek picture looked as part of the story, I’ve decided to start including shots whenever possible with all wine reviews. The bulk of the shots will be my own taken on my trust little digi, but occasionally I’ll use supplied shots from the wineries themselves. Don’t go knocking pictures now you hear!
[June 2 2006] Sick of having to wade through 20 emails a day from people posting about credit ratings, penis enlargements and the like, I’ve decided to get rid of comments on all new posts save select pieces of writing. Well done spammers, your inconsiderate behaviour has ruined it for everyone. I hope you all think long and hard about what you’ve done.
